Part II : When Fayçalath Wears Me

Hello all.

Yesterday I inaugurated a new section in which I will post fashion articles with the particularity that the printed on the fabrics of the pieces are designed by me.

This other way of revealing myself is different from the outfits already posted (here Creation and stylism by N'sqol or here N'sqol - What I wear for example) with my work done directly on the fabric. The approach is quite different and I say the following in yesterday’s article:

« I have the impression that in the fashion field there are two kinds of creators.

There are those who think clothing in terms of cut, material, adaptability to bodies and functionality although they are inspired by their environment and there are people for whom fashion is first and foremost All the narrative of their approaches to the world, a dialogue of the duality that is recounted in them.

Je me reconnais dans cette deuxième catégorie de personne et c’est sans doute pour cette raison que j’aime le travail de certains designers comme Elsa Schiaparelli dont j’ai parlé dernièrement Nsqol or Alexander Mc Queen of which I will speak soon.

Creating for me is a way of meeting this aspect of my person who is there, hanging in the shadows and affecting my life. Creating is also a way of falling in love with my invisible wounds and building a narrative space for them.

I need to make sense of the things I see so as not to sink. I need to sift some good in what I perceive as a constraint and to realize that coercion is a gift that life makes me. »

For the continuation it is only necessary to click here if you have not read it.

Today it is therefore Fay who officiates as a model with the same outfits but whose rendering on it is completely different.

My sister is tall, she always gives the clothes a kinetic look, something longline always emanates from her silhouette because besides she has this delicate side (although paradoxically gaffeuse and bumps all the time everywhere) she expresses the presence.

For the first part I asked her to wear the same pieces that Jordane had yesterday.

I specify that they have not been adjusted to the size of Fay but by some miracle my pieces are always serving the body they are supposed to sublimate.

In reality it is Fay’s particular talent that makes it possible to achieve this result.

In fact she likes loose things, loose clothes and she always knows how to adapt them to her morphology.

It is also why I watch her out of the corner of my eye when she comes to my house because there is always something in my wardrobe that she wants to take and the worst thing is that it suits her well every time.

In short, this is not the subject even if I hope she will read this part carefully and she will want to leave my wardrobe quiet :).

So here is just below what Fay gives the same outfits as those worn by Jordane yesterday.

On Fay I find that the fact that she is tall and thin confers as strange as it sounds a certain sobriety at the overall pace.

Although the pieces have a visual strength, the fact remains that the morphology of Fay, combined with the colors, which are still dark, remain dark, so that the result is elegant, contained, almost modest.

I find it quite interesting the rendering on Fay and I was quite surprised when she wore these clothes.

One of the people I thought of when she dressed was Edith Head. This immense costumer on whom I would write shortly.

Her work is a real inspiration and I found that the result of what I saw is a somewhat more modern version of his work even if I would need 1000 lives to match it.

This woman really fascinates me and there are not many that fascinates me like her.

Let us return to my own creations carried by my sister.

Fay, when she wears a garment, she understands it.

By this I mean that she has a way of embodying it in her gestures that makes her take it as much as what she carries.

We can not see that in everybody. There are people who love fashion without trying to incarnate a role and therefore have fun with what they wear contrary to Fay who keeps doing that.

This is what I see in her and it is not due to her physique but to her understanding of « what to dress » and also certainly to her understanding of her body.

I like the fact that on both bodies although femininity is very present its expression is very vivid on Jordane and more mysterious and in restraint on Fay.

It is also their bodies that tell this without even controlling it.

If we were in a movie I would see the character of Jordan in a film like Niagara with Marylin Monroe and that of Fay in a film like Marnie of Alfred Hitchcock.

Let’s move on to the 2nd part with the shirts.

The skirt is associated with two shirts that belong to Fay and were purchased from H & M.

The first set with the striped blue shirt is to go to work. It’s a touch of originality and a touch of classicism. A small belt obi brown sky that marks a little the waist of Fay and a pair of open boots that have a nude on his skin to perfect the look.

The 2nd look with the ruffle shirt is suitable for a dinner with friends, the office also or a cocktail party.

Besides, I would rather know which version with the shirt you prefer?
